Summary

Image Description from historic lecture booklet: "Berlin, the capital of Germany, is located on a tributary of the Elbe. This is a city of imposing buildings, broad streets and promenades, and beautiful gardens. Many industries have been established here, and manufactured products can be carried by canals to the Oder and thence to Stettin or down the Elbe to Hamburg. The railroads of Germany, which are owned by the government, radiate in all directions from Berlin, and this city has become the greatest railroad center of the country. The population of the city with its suburbs was 4, 114, 000 in 1925.". .Original Collection: Visual Instruction Department Lantern Slides. .Item Number: P217:set 051 015. .You can find this image by searching for the item number by clicking here ( http://oregondigital.org/digcol ) . ..Want more?
