Basel, Universitätsbibliothek, AR I 2, f. 14r – Georg Carpentarius Registrum pro antiqua bibliotheca cartusiae Basiliensis

Around 1520, Georg Carpentarius, the librarian of the Carthusian Monastery of Basel at the time, compiled a shelf list for the library. This catalog consists of two volumes, one each for the two library rooms of the Bibliotheca antiqua(AR I 2) and the Bibliotheca nova(AR I 3). The catalog for the Bibliotheca antiquais preceded by the so-called “Informatorium bibliothecarii”, a guide for the librarian which instructs him in his tasks, among them the cataloguing and the care of the books as well as of the inventory. Bound into the front is a list of books that were donated to the Ittingen Charterhouse by the Carthusian Monastery of Basel in 1526.
Deutsch: Um 1520 erstellte der damalige Bibliothekar der Kartause Basel, Georg Carpentarius, einen Standortkatalog der Bibliothek. Der Katalog umfasst zwei Bände, je einen für die beiden Bibliotheksräume der Bibliotheca antiqua(AR I 2) und der Bibliotheca nova(AR I 3). Dem Katalog der Bibliotheca antiquaist das sogenannte „Informatorium bibliothecarii“ vorangestellt, eine Anleitung für den Bibliothekar, die ihn für seine Tätigkeiten – unter anderem Katalogisieren, Buch- und Bestandespflege – instruiert. Vorne eingebunden ist ausserdem eine Liste mit Büchern, die von der Basler Kartause 1526 an die Kartause Ittingen geschenkt wurden.

Le catalogue de la Bibliotheca antiqua est précédé par l’« Informatorium bibliothecarii », un guide pour le bibliothécaire qui l’instruit dans ses activités – dont le catalogage, le soin des livres et du fonds libraire. Une liste de livres offerts à la chartreuse bâloise en 1526 par la chartreuse d’Ittingen est insérée au début du manuscrit.

Il catalogo è costituito da due volumi, uno per ciascuna delle due sale della Bibliotheca antiqua(AR I 2) e della Bibliotheca nova(AR I 3). l catalogo della Bibliotheca antiquaè preceduto dal cosiddetto «Informatorium bibliothecarii», una guida per il bibliotecario, che lo istruisce nella sua attività, tra le quali la catalogazione, la cura dei libri e del fondo librario. Rilegato all’inizio vi è inoltre un elenco di libri che la certosa di Basilea donò nel 1526 a quella di Ittingen.
