Basel, Universitätsbibliothek, A IV 4, f. 46r – Aurelius Augustinus, Confessiones

This manuscript contains mainly Augustine’s Confessiones as well as his treatise De virtutibus et meritis. It was copied in 1471 by Henricus de Bocholdia, who, on the occasion of the Windesheim reform, had made his profession of faith among the canons regular of St. Leonhard in Basel. In a note on folio 162rb, added in 1473 but then crossed out several times and therefore difficult to read, Henricus relates the attempt to reform Interlaken Monastery (1473-1475), where he would have liked to have gone.
Deutsch: Die Handschrift enthält zur Hauptsache die Confessiones des Augustinus sowie seinen Traktat De virtutibus et meritis. Geschrieben wurde sie 1471 von Henricus de Bocholdia, der 1464 anlässlich der Windesheimer Reform im Basler Chorherrenstift St. Leonhard Profess abgelegt hatte. In einer 1473 nachgetragenen, dann aber mehrfach durchgestrichenen und damit nicht mehr mit Sicherheit zu entziffernden Notiz auf Blatt 162rb berichtet Henricus über die versuchte Reform des Stifts Interlaken (1473-1475), wo er gern hingegangen wäre.
Français : Le manuscrit contient principalement les Confessions de saint Augustin et son traité De virtutibus et meritis. Il a été copié en 1471 par Henricus de Bocholdia qui, en 1464, à l’occasion de la réforme de Windesheim a fait profession de foi chez les chanoines réguliers de Saint-Léonard à Bâle. Dans une note ajoutée en 1473 au folio 162rb, effacée plusieurs fois et donc difficilement lisible, Henricus relate la tentative de réforme du couvent d’Interlaken (1473-1475) où il aurait volontiers voulu aller.
Italiano: Il manoscritto contiene principalmente le Confessiones di Agostino e il suo trattato De virtutibus et meritis. E' stato scritto nel 1471 da Henricus de Bocholdia che nel 1464, in occasione della riforma di Windesheim, fece professione dei voti religiosi presso i canonici regolari di S. Leonardo a Basilea. In una nota aggiunta nel 1473 sul foglio 162rb, più volte cancellata e quindi non più decifrabile con sicurezza, Henricus riferisce del tentativo di riforma del convento di Interlaken (1473-1475), dove egli sarebbe volentieri voluto andare.
