BAY OF BENGAL (Nov. 24, 2007) Bangladeshi Army Brig. Gen. Rashid Uzzamun Khan, a Tropical Cyclone Sidr relief planner, speaks before a committee of delegates aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) on the needs of the Bangladeshi people. The committee was made up of members from the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, USAID, Bangladeshi Army, and the Bangladesh government. Kearsarge and the embarked elements of the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, III Marine Expeditionary Brigade, are planning relief operations in southwest Bangladesh at the request of the Bangladeshi Government after Tropical Cyclone Sidr.
