The ship recently conducted a vertical replenishment (VERTREP) with the amphibious dock landing ship USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49). Harpers Ferry is transiting to Brunei for the 5th phase of Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) 2005. CARAT is an annual series of bilateral military training exercises with several Southeast Asian nations designed to enhance interoperability of the respective sea services.
