An American Apache attack helicopter protects the Chinook transport helicopters.
American helicopters transport VJTF-troops of the light infantry brigade (Dutch Marines, British Grenadier Guards and Albanian soldiers) during a three-pronged air assault. The operation started early in the evening while it was still light, but the attack continued in the dark. The attack was supported by American Army Apache attack helicopters.
