So much is being written of late uponthe care of cancer, that it is interestingto note what Dr. N. Senn, of Chicago,has recently said upon the origin andsource of this disease. It is of specialinterest now because of the claims madeby x-ray operators that malignant dis-eases are cured by the Roentgen ray,provided the disease is an open one andaccessible. Dr. Senn says—( American Surgeryand Gynecology). Carcinoma is due to atypical proliferation of the epithelialcells from the matrix of embryonic cellsof congenital or post-natal origin. Thelaw of legitimate succession of cellsholds true in the origin and growth oftumors, both benign and malignant, aswell as in the production of normal andinflammatory tissue.
