A student of the Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, he later became a teacher at the Academy of Bréra. He had a short (he died at age 51) but brilliant career as an official and society portrait painter. The pinnacle of his career was a commission in 1927 for the portrait of his Royal Highness the Prince of Piedmont. The artist painted numerous portraits of people day dreaming, contemplating, especially women and children.
