Afghan National Army Brig. Gen. Azfal, the commander of the 2nd Brigade, 201st Corps, salutes during the playing of the Afghan national anthem April 26 in a ceremony to honor Alam Baik, an Afghan guard who died defending an attack against Forward Operating Base Finley Shields, April 15. During the ceremony, U.S. and Afghan forces presented Baik’s family with the Commander’s Award for Civilian Service and an Afghan flag that was flown for 24 hours at FOB Finley Shields in honor of his memory.
