Summary

A World War II era C-47 Skytrain aircraft lands at Cherbourg-Maupertus Airfield, France, on June 2, 2014, during Allied Forge 2014. This exercise, led by the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division in conjunction with the 152nd and 165th Air National Guard Airlift Wings, is a multinational interoperability exercise designed to enhance bilateral capabilities between the United States, England and France in support of the 70th anniversary commemoration of the D-Day invasion in Normandy, France.
