A U.S. Marine with Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground

A U.S. Marine with Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force - Crisis Response - Africa 20.1, Marine Forces Europe and Africa, participates in The German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge competition at Naval Air Station Sigonella, Italy, Oct. 19, 2019. Competitors completed several physical fitness events in order to earn a bronze, silver, or gold GAFB. Events included a 100 meter swim, a flexed arm hang, a 12 kilometer ruck run, a 1,000 meter run, a pistol qualification and a shuttle run. SPMAGTF-CR-AF is deployed to conduct crisis-response and theater-security operations in Africa and promote regional stability by conducting military-to-military training exercises throughout Europe and Africa.
