2nd MarDiv Previews Fight in Helmand Province

Col. Kenneth M. Detreux, the operations officer of 2nd Marine Division forward, visits the Afghan National Security forces compound in Camp Dwyer, Afghanistan, Oct. 12. Detreux said mentoring ANSF is one of the keys to victory in Afghanistan. His visit to the compound was part of a general brief here regarding the conditions that Regimental Combat Team 1 faces in Central Helmand province. The purpose of the brief was to prepare Second Marine Division to replace 1st Marine Division as the lead Marine unit in Helmand province next spring.
