1915 - Allentown Workhorse Parade
Summary
The last annual workhorse parade was held in 1916. This photo shows the Lehigh Baking Company's horse-drawn delivery wagons parading west on Hamilton Street from Fifth to Sixth Street. By this time, there were about 2,000 automobiles and trucks in Allentown. However, most Allentonians still used trolley cars, or horses or walked to get around the city.
