160921-M-LZ389-075 MUSCAT, Oman (Sept. 21, 2016) Marines with 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) register and process evacuees during a non-combatant evacuation operation rehearsal in Muscat, Oman, Sept. 21, 2016. 22nd MEU, deployed with the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, is maintaining regional security in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. The non-combatant evacuation exercise is an opportunity for the United States and Oman to practice a bilateral mission of quickly providing security and safety to U.S. and international citizens abroad during a natural disaster or contingency.
