大清帝國 10 Dollars - Sin Chun Bank of China (1907) 01

This banknote was issued by the Sin Chun Bank of China Commercial bank from late Manchu Ch'ing Dynasty (where it was founded in the year 1906) and was the first private Savings bank and the first private Commercial Bank of Qing China. Although supporting the Chinese Revolution with a considerable amount of funds, it went bankrupt prior its success and the creation of a Chinese Republic in 1911. Business of the Sin Chun Bank of China (so of this bank) was continued later by NINGPO COMMERCIAL AND SAVINGS BANK with the production of private banknotes in Shanghai for circulation in China.
