Newell Convers Wyeth (1882–1945) was an American painter and illustrator. He is best known for his illustrations of classic literature, including Treasure Island, Robinson Crusoe and The Last of the Mohicans. Wyeth also painted landscapes and portraits, and his work is characterised by a strong use of colour and dramatic lighting. He was a member of the Brandywine School of artists, which included his teacher Howard Pyle and fellow illustrators N.C. Wyeth (his brother) and Maxfield Parrish. Wyeth's work had a lasting influence on American illustration and is still admired today.
