The foreign commerce ofthis city has grown rapidly in recent years. Baltimore is almost surrounded by fruit districts. Itis not far from the +obacco regions of Virginia and Penn-sylvania. The long grain belt from lake Ontario toChesapeake bay includes the country around Baltimore.This bay supplies more oysters than are taken from anyother equal area in the world. X ^W^
