More recently Eamsey Hunt of New York reviewed the litera-ture and found that out of 100 cases reported, the cervical regionwas by far the point of choice and that the frequency diminishesas one goes down the spine. The symptomatology of syphilisof the spine does not differ essentially from that of other af-fections of the spine, and consists especially of pain, tenderness,rigidity, and deformity.
