tion may simulate epiphyseal separation.Supra-condyloid fracture, partial fracture of the internal ei^icondyle, andpartial detachment of the external condyle of the humerus, are wellshown in Figs. 129, 130, 131, and 132. Detachment of the supinatorlongus muscle, simulating a fracture of the humerus and epiphysitis ofthe humeral head, at first thought to be a fracture, are depicted in Figs.133, 134, and 135. The Middle Third of the Humerus. Fluoroscopic and skiagraphic examinations readily reveal, from allsides, fractures of the middle third of the humerus. The Shoulder-Joint and its Vicinity. On account of the immediate swelling of the part, examination isoften rendered very difficult. Fluoroscopic Examination.—If the patient is a child or a thin person,this method of examination will be satisfactory. Should one suspect fracture with dislocation, it is preferable totake a skiagram, as it requires less disturbance of the parts. Theexamination is made in the antero-posterior position.
