Joseph Pennell - Joseph Pennell - Joseph Pennell
Резюме
This image of Pennell was titled "An Artist in Acid," and was published February 1922 with a caption which read: "The tongue and the etcher's needle of Joe Pennell bite with equal assiduity. For conveying the 'epic value of scenes' the Boswell of Whistler has few living rivals in any land. Pennell's art as an etcher breathes verity, for he is a master of the lines of meaning that give to men and cities an immortal second life on paper. It is what Pennell sees in the glow of genius that counts, not what he says in the heat of perpetual controversy."
