Filmshave been especially useful in teach-ing safe practices and in trainingforemen in the principles of goodsupervision. There are those who believe thatit is in Plant work that films canrealize their greatest value. As inother departments, learning by do- the extent to which films may be usedto supplement learning by doingin Plant work. The training assign-ments in four selected crafts werethoroughlv analyzed so as to selectthose in which real benefits could beobtained by the use of training films.The crafts studied were (i) cablesplicing, (2) maintenance of centraloflfice frames, (3) station installa-tion, and (4) line and cable construc-tion.
