"Австрия в Ирландии" на самом деле Швейцария
Резюме
The catalogue title for this image is: "Chapel at Banim?. Small chapel with clock tower Eastern design, with an interesting plaque/ crest over the doorway."..Wherever located, it is certainly unusual looking. While it seems likely to be from further afield, *if* this church is in Ireland, then it must be the wonder of the age! I really do love the apparent plaque over the door...As per the excellent example of "voluntary crowd-sourcing" evident today, it is confirmed that this is neither Austria nor Ireland, but the Parish Church of St. Idda ( https://goo.gl/maps/QF4GBNEdjmQ2 ) in Bauen, Uri, Switzerland. Likely captured during the Dillon family trip to the area in 1901. There's lots more detail (including "arty" connections) noted in the comments below......Photographers: Dillon Family..Contributors: Luke Gerald Dillon, Augusta Caroline Dillon..Collection: Clonbrock photographic Collection ( http://catalogue.nli.ie/Collection/vtls000315679 ) ..Date: Catalogue range c.1860-1930. Though likely c.1901..NLI Ref: CLON1812 ( vtls000523851 ) ..You can also view this image, and many thousands of others, on the NLI’s catalogue at catalogue.nli.ie ( http://catalogue.nli.ie )
