The house seems to be a long distance from the entrance-lodge and as one approaches it through the grounds the driveway is so arranged that its entire length cannot be seen from any one place. In consequence of all this the house seems to be delight- fully remote and retired from the world and very close to the heart of nature, for spread out before the threshold is the glorious panorama of water, hills and sky and close to the house, under the moss-covered stonework of the old mill, the little brook sings in its unceasing journey to the far sea.
