The large vases, richly ornamented in the rocaille style,bear the royal arms of Stanislas, Duke of Lorraine and King ofPoland. They are 3 feet 6 inches in height. The other piecesare decorated in a scheme of colour in which purple and pinklargely predominate, or in plain blue. Hardly any modification had to be brought into the cur-rent mode of decoration when, in 1768, the manufacture of hardporcelain was introduced, the same artists painting either faienceor porcelain in a similar style.
