Figs. 8,10, and 11 give various sections of roadway. The track work as far as Fort Lee, though nominallyalong the .side of the highway, was practically new gradiiig, requiring a large amount of bla.sting as the worn road wastoo crooked to follow. From Fort Lee to Leonia thetrack follows the side of the road, and from Leoniato Englewood the center. At Leonia a grade varyingfrom eight per cent to ten per cent for 1500 ft. is encoun-tered going down. A large amount of macadamizing ofroads is required of the company under its franchises.
