The power station now building is locat-ed at the corner of Cottage Grove avenueand Fifty-fifth street, where the line toJackson Park intersects. The companywill sell commutation tickets of 20 ridesfor a dollar, good for the entire nine milesride. One of the most appreciated advantagesafforded by the company, is its system oftransfers, by means of which a passengercan go from almost any point in the SouthDivision of the city to any other point, onthe payment of one fare. The old style oftransfer ticket good for use any time dur-ing an entire day, is open to great abuse andfraud. The limited ticket, or slip, as it iscalled, must be used within 60 minutesfrom the hour punched in margin, andalso must be presented at the point of con-nection with the line on which the pas-senger received it. In January, 188G, when the slip was putin use, only 12,000 a day
