Ehrenburg worked withhis microscope up to a few days of his death. The focussingaccommodates the defects of vision. Moreover, it is a com-fort and a solace to an aged physician to quietly explore themysteries of the unseen world he has been dealing with ma-croseopically during a long and laborious life.
