Albert Eckhout was a Dutch painter who lived from 1610 to 1666. He is best known for his paintings of Brazilian flora, fauna, and indigenous peoples. Eckhout was part of a Dutch expedition to Brazil in the 17th century, where he spent several years studying and painting the local environment and people.
