Green's Ledge Leuchtturm, Long Island Sound, Norwalk, Fairfield County, CT Bedeutung: Green's Ledge Lighthouse, erbaut 1902, ist ein bedeutendes Beispiel für einen vorgefertigten, kegelförmigen, gusseisernen Leuchtturm, der auf einem zylindrischen Fundament aus Gusseisen und Beton errichtet wurde. Dieser Entwurf wurde 1873 vom US Lighthouse Board als kostengünstigere Alternative zum Mauerwerk zur Kennzeichnung von Gefahren unter Wasser entwickelt. Material, Konstruktion, architektonische Details und Innenausstattung des Green's Ledge Lighthouse spiegeln das standardisierte Design für diese Art von Struktur wider. Dieser Leuchtturm ist auch für seine Rolle im Navigationssystem im Long Island Sound von Bedeutung, wo er vor einem versunkenen Felsvorsprung an der westlichen Grenze der Norwalk-Inselgruppe warnt.
