Der Kommandant der Marine Corp General Robert B. Neller salutiert, als US-Marineinfanteristen mit Marinekaserne Washington während seiner Beerdigung auf dem Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va., am 6. April 2017 die sterblichen Überreste des pensionierten Marineoberst John H. Glenn Jr. ausladen. Glenn starb am 8. Dezember 2016. Glenn war ein US-Marineflieger, der während des Zweiten Weltkriegs und des Koreakrieges 149 Kampfeinsätze flog. Später wurde er NASA-Astronaut und umkreiste 1962 als erster Mensch an Bord der "Friendship 7" die Erde. 1974 wurde er für den Bundesstaat Ohio in den US-Senat gewählt und amtierte vier aufeinander folgende Amtszeiten.
