from hooks and crossed above thewindow, and the white mosquito net-ting, which was hung behind and form-ed an effective and appropriate back-ground for the whole setting. The window, it will be noticed, isdressed from corner to corner, notstraight across, thus giving an increasedlioor space for the display and the cor-rect perspective to the man on thestreet. when not in use. A dunnage bag, com-monly known as a turkey, stands infront of the open tent. The other half of the window is de-voted mainly to articles of food. Tinsof chicken-soup, baked beans, bakingpowder, etc., etc. Slabs of bacon, evap-orated apples, breakfast foods, soupsquares, pickles, biscuits, and a hundredand one other necessities of camp lifeare prominently shown. The chief merit of this window lies inits completeness. Since the photo-graph was taken the arrangement hasbeen somewhat altered. The tent wasmoved to the right, facing square to(he passer-by, and tlie window redress-ed with the tent as the common cen-tre.
