superb variety, which is sure to find a place in every garden the

coming season. The plant grows six to seven feet in height, is

strong and self-supporting, and bears long, strong-stemmed,

very large and very double golden-yellow flowers in great pro-

fusion, admirably adapted for cutting purposes. The flowering

season extends through several weeks of mid-summer. Price,

R. Speciosa — 3 feet. September. A very choice variety, pro-

ducing immense quantities of handsome orange-yellow flowers

with deep purple centers. As these are borne on stiff stems,

R. Sub-Tomentosa— 5 feet. September. This beautiful vari-

ety makes a very handsome ornament. It branches freely and

produces an abundance of clear lemon-yellow flowers with

SPEEDWELL.

A very popular and exceedingly handsome family of per-

pectly hardy plants, adapted to all soils and situations. The

dwarf sorts make splendid rock plants, and

the tall A-arieties are very effective in the

herbaceous or shubbery border. All are

very free bloomers.

V. amaethystina— 1 foot. June. Flowers

in showy spikes : color a beautiful amethyst

blue. Each. 25c : per doz., $2.50.

V. Longifolia Subsessilis — 2 feet. Au-

gust. A splendid variety, and ranks among the

foremost of all hardy plants for decorative

effects. The flowers are borne on long hand-

some spikes 4 to 5 inches in circumference,

remain in bloom a long time. Color is a deep

V. Rupestris— 4 inches. May. An excellent

rock plant of creeping habit. Flowers blue
