Lot 3000-S-4: U.S. Navy armored cruiser, USS Maine (ACR-1). She was christened and launched by Alice Tracey Wilmerding, the granddaughter of Secretary of the Navy Benjamin F. Tracy, at the New York Naval Shipyard, New York, November 18, 1890. Maine sunk on February 15, 1898, and was one of the factors leading to the Spanish-American War. Detroit Photographic Company.
