PACIFIC OCEAN (Feb. 28, 2012) The Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force destroyer JS Amagiri (DD 154), the French navy frigate FNS Vendemiaire (F 734) and the mine countermeasures ship USS Defender (MCM 2) maneuver in formation during a passing exercise off the Northwestern coast of Kyushu, Japan. Training during the event included basic communications and navigation drills that helped participants develop relationships and improve their tactical capabilities.
