Summary

Index data: The following photographs are random Lowell street scenes, and photographs made at the Paylin Market, a Cambodian family owned grocery store. 0, Elderly Caucasian man sitting on chair on sidewalk in front of variety store at Cabot and Salem Streets; 1-2, Three ample Hispanic-looking women with child and infant sitting in doorway on Merrimack St. 2 is good photo; 3-5, Same as above but now with just two women and the infant. 3 and 5 are good photos; 6, Caucasian child sitting on car window sill; 7, Elderly Caucasian man sitting on sidewalk wall; 8-9, Unremarkable sidewalk scenes; 10, Cambodian proprietor(?) of Paylin Market standing beside poster which presumably relates to Cambodian atrocities. Good photo; 11-14, Views of Paylin Market customers in parking lot at night. Good photos; 15-36, Interior views of Paylin Market at and around cash register and in the aisles. I believe that the cash register operator is the proprietor's wife. Many of these photos were made with flash at a very low shutter speed to get some ambient light registration on the negative to reduce background illumination drop-off. Therefore some of them are unsharp. 25-25a, 26-26a, 29-29a, 30-30a, 32-32a, 34-34a and 36-36a are good photos.
