Ritual Wine Flask, Bronze, Chinese Collection Rijksmuseum.
Summary
The unusual shape of this flask was introduced from the north of what is now China around 400 BCE. Typical is the oblong body with flat sides, the small waisted neck, and the rectangular base. The rings used to hold the vessel are mounted in the mouth of an unidentifiable, imaginary creature.
