Cassibile, Sicily (Sep. 06, 2003) Naval Air Station (NAS) Sigonella's Stephen Decatur School NJROTC color guard comes to a halt beside the monument marking the spot where the armistice was signed between Italy and the Allies in Cassibile, Sicily, on Sept. 8, 1943. A parade and ceremony honoring the 60th anniversary of the World War II event was held in the town, which is located outside the city of Siracusa, Sicily. Retired Marine Master Sgt. Anel Montero, an NJROTC instructor, gives commands to the members of the guard. Members of NAS Sigonella, along with the color guard, were invited to take part in the historic ceremony.
