description

Summary

William P. Weeks writes Amos A. Phelps about a Methodist revival in South Berswick. He writes, "One Methodist minister has already come among them and is practicing all the arts and devises of which he is cabale to make them have-or as Dr. Beecher says to make them 'wallow on the floor and froth at the mouth.' Three of the females last week were as in a trance." He writes of other news of the townspeople of South Berswick.
