Letter from Tobias Ostrander, Lyons, to Amos Augustus Phelps, Decr 6th 1826

description

Summary

In compliance to Amos A. Phelps’s request, Tobias Ostrander supplies information on Joseph Ennis. He says Ennis is not married, but has a group of illegitimate children. His social standing used to be good enough to be admitted to a fraternity and a lodge. Ostrander, who declares himself neither Ennis’s enemy—as Phelps has heard—nor his friend, says his daughter has a pair of twin children by Ennis.
