Letter from Parentha Bodwell, Simsbury, to Amos Augustus Phelps, March 4th 1827

Amos A. Phelps’s cousin, Parentha Bodwell, writes to Phelps about their friend, Mary, who is involved with a man named Ennis, whom Bodwell considers to be of dubious character. In a segment added later, Bodwell reports the news that Mary broke up with Ennis. She expresses her pleasure on hearing Phelps’s situation with his education. She then discusses Phelps's romantic interest, as well as her own.
