Summary
Elizur Timothy Washburn writes to Amos A. Phelps regarding news of his thanksgiving. He also writes that he hasn't heard news from any of their classmates. He hasn't "done much at Hebrew et, as it has been the beginning of our term, and many things to attend to here have interrupted my studies more thsan they will hereafter. I have just begun the Bible." He speaks of the duties of "every student of Theology.to remember for whom he intends to labour, & in what cause he expects to engage." He also discusses business excitement in the city as well as his news of buying himself a library, stating that he "purchased about a hundred volumes lately."
