Summary
A.F. Williams writes to Amos A. Phelps inquiring about a new society Phelps' is forming. He writes, "I learned from a mutual friend..that you was taking measures to form a new Mis Society-disconnected with Slavery & that it was done because you had some objections to the Union Miss. Soc[iet]y." He asks Phelps what his reasons are for not supporting the Union Missionary Society.
