Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rinpoche, was a legendary figure in Tibetan Buddhism. He is believed to have been born in India in the 8th century and was instrumental in spreading Buddhism to Tibet. Padmasambhava is considered the founder of the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism, the oldest of the four major schools.
