Print shows the first festival of federation, a celebration organized to commemorate the fall of the Bastille and to express French unity under the revolution; shows a large triumphal arch at left center, a ceremonial altar on the Champ de Mars, crowds, soldiers, cannons, and the Ecole Militaire in background.
