PEARL HARBOR (Jul. 27, 2011) Capt. William Johnson, right, commander of the guided-missile cruiser USS Lake Erie (CG 70), gives Capt. Alberto A. Cruise, commander of the Philippine navy's newest multi-mission surface combatant ship, BRP Gregorio del Pilar (PF 15), a plaque in the ward room aboard Gregorio del Pilar after it arrived at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. Gregorio del Pilar, a former U.S. Coast Guard cutter, is the first gas-turbine jet engine-powered vessel in the Philippine navy fleet.
