Candlestick from the USS Mayflower

This candlestick from the Presidential yacht, “Mayflower” held the candle whose wax sealed the 1905 peace treaty signed by the Russian and Japanese envoys ending the Russo-Japanese War. President Roosevelt worked vigorously to bring about a peace treaty, thereby being rewarded with a Nobel Peace Prize.
