CAMP DWYER, Helmand province, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan - Afghan National Army Brig. Gen. Mohammad Shujaee, the commanding general of 1st Brigade, 215th Corps, reviews his troops during the brigade's weekly formation at Camp Garmsir, the ANA headquarters here, April 30.
The brigade is partnered with Regimental Combat Team 1, the Marine ground combat element in Southern Helmand province. The RCT works with the local government and Afghan National Security Forces to conduct counterinsurgency operations to secure the Afghan people, defeat insurgent forces, and enable ANSF assumption of security responsibilities in the region. Ultimately, the partnered forces promote the expansion of stability, development and legitimate governance.
