Print shows two fashionably dressed women walking on a country road, one is carrying a purse on her left hand; they ignore a "blind" beggar with a small dog on a leash and holding a cup and stick in right hand. As they pass, he steps on the dress of the women with the purse, causing her dress to tear and exposing her bare buttocks. A satire on the miserliness of the new upper class, as well as the contemporary clothing fashions of the merveilleuse.
