description

Summary

Besides the carnations and other small flowers, this pattern consists of ‘flamed’ red scrollwork. Around 1985 the French firm of Braquenié revived this design, calling it Rivière enchantée. The sleeves, also named ‘bears’ claws’, were fastened at the wearer’s back. They covered the baby’s hands to prevent it from scratching itself.
