On the contrary, it may be unsuccessful, especially incarcinomatous strictures. Electrolysis will often succeedin those rectal strictures in which all other methods havefailed. A certain proportion of cases can be better cured byelectrolysis, and with less fear of a relapse, than by othermethods.
